a bad night turned into some fine moments with milo

just returning from spring break family vacation. those with kids know what trips with yung-ins is like. a strange mix of exhaustion, elation, disappointment, humor, moments you'll happily forget & moments that you're sad you can't keep, and in the most unfortunate cases - a well timed radical pediatric illness. milo and i spent some quality time very early friday morning. it wasn't my original intention to stay up until 3am with a 5 year old, but he was a good sport (considering the conditions). we sat together. stunned into silence watching Leslie Feist perform "Secret Heart" live on carson daly's show (well, it explained my lack fer words).
